Ball & Spoon

I've been learning a lot of new stuff lately. I've been learning how to play ball with mommy by pushing and kicking it to roll it back to her.

It was very hard for her to get a picture of it however, because I'm such a quick roller she only caught the ball in one picture and she took like 20! I get very excited about it and have A LOT of fun!

I'm also now learning how to start feeding myself...with a spoon! I've been working on self feeding with finger foods for a few months now, and I'm a pro, from crunchy cereal to fruits and veggies to crackers, cookies and rice, but now I get tools!

The Aftermath

It's a mess but you'll never learn if you don't practice right? I've been trying to take the spoon from mommy and daddy for months now, but they would never give it to me. Then mommy was reading another one of her mommy manuals and it said that babies should start learning to self feed with a spoon between 9 and 12 months. Well, I'm 9 months, and I started solids early, and moved to a cup early, so she figured we might as well go ahead and try this on the earlier side too. Mommy has a lot of faith in me! I love it.

I'm gonna go stand and roll the ball and dance now. Oh yeah, I also LOVE to dance now. I've even decided to wake up at 3am and dance! It's a mixture of bouncing and giggling and hand flailing, and boy is it FUN! See ya!

Rainy Days

Don't rainy days just make you wanna nap endlessly? Me too...

No more bottles!

I have officially been weaned off the bottle! As of Monday mommy and daddy have only given me cups, and I've done a wonderful job with them. I've only ever had my juice from a cup, starting on my 6 month birthday, and I accepted them right away, but now I have my formula from them too!

They tricked me at first and put sippy spouts in my bottle, so I didn't notice, then they started throwing in different cups, with firmer tops, and I never knew what hit me. The great thing is, no matter how hard I throw or shake them they don't leak, so I never have formula all over my face or shirt anymore! :)

I'm such a big boy, I'm letting go and cruising from one piece of furniture to the next, and lunging for things further away, and standing on my own for a few seconds here and there. I'll be walking before anyone knows it!

I feel like more of a little kid and less of a baby. This is awesome. I can't wait to read and count and start kindergarten!

Chillin like a villain

Aaaah it's so hard being a baby...

I've just been hanging out, eating, playing, learning, watching Sesame Street and being a baby so I haven't had much exciting going on to post about.

I did get to see Grandma twice this week. I also got to see my baby friend Travis.

Other than that I've just been doing normal baby stuff. No new teeth yet. I have been trying to say "Bye Bye" but its not quite perfect yet. I got "Dada" down like a champ though.

Well, its cold and rainy now so I'm gonna go cuddle and play under the blankets with mommy until daddy gets home. Bye Bye!

No High Chairs?

Mommy, daddy and I went out for a nice day yesterday. We went to downtown to see Daddy's new office building, then we picked up grandma and Steve to go to lunch. We went to a historic restaurant called Clifton's Cafeteria that mommy has been wanting to try and grandma remembered going to when she was a little girl. It was not very good and more expensive than expected for being cafeteria style where you serve yourself and aren't getting much service. Plus they sent us upstairs to sit and I was in a stroller. Do you know how hard it is to get a stroller up a flight of stairs, especially when you have a tray of food in your hands?

Then after we dropped off grandma we decided instead of going straight home we'd go to Arnie Morton's because we weren't really satisfied from our lunch. We parked at daddy's old office building and went to go try Morton's (we'd never been there before). Well lets just start by saying if they don't have highchairs its probably not the type of place you're supposed to take a baby. But I'll tell you what, I am the exception. We got a booth where my stroller could sit at the end without being in anyone's way, and I was a quiet, good boy the entire time. I was SO well behaved. All day long everyone from grandma and Steve to our waitress and the maitre d kept saying I was such a good boy and they couldn't believe how well I was behaving. I rock dude! The food was REALLY good there btw, well thats what mommy and daddy said, I didn't try any. :(

When we got back to the car daddy was messing around tipping me backward in my new umbrella stroller and he learned that I can slide out if he does that :)

(I DID have socks on, but I ate them)

But don't worry, I started sliding really slowly and I was right against the ground, so there were no bumps or falls or injuries.

I'm just fine.

We had a great weekend. I rested a lot today since everything was so exciting yesterday. I practiced standing a lot, ate a ton of food and read books with mommy:)

I also happened to get my hands on the diaper cream when mommy wasn't looking today and when she found me it was on my face and toes and toys... it was fun while it lasted.

I wanna practice standing some more now though, so I gotta get off the computer to do that. Good night!

Aftermath

This is what a big baby lunch turns into:

They're already shopping for my birthday!

I still have Xmas gifts that are in their boxes and daddy and mommy are already shopping for my birthday gifts. Not really sure what a birthday is yet, but Christmas was a new things for me too and that worked out great!

So some of the long shots have emerged as my favorite new toys. Included are my ball and my Gloworm. I LOVE my Gloworm!

I also love my Tonka Scoot and Scoop. I get to drive like Daddy!

But I need to go enjoy my big Saturday lunch now. Mommy made me chicken and spinach ravioli, monterey, colby and cheddar cheese crumbles and freeze dried pineapples and bananas! It's so yummy, like a baby buffet!

Oh yeah, speaking of buffets I forgot to mention that last time we went to Hometown Buffet the HT Bee came over and gave me a yellow balloon! It was sooo cool. I found out I love balloons! :)

Lots of brains!

Today at Dr. Connolly's we found out that I now weigh 21.6 lbs (about a pound and a half less than mommy thought) and I am 29 3/4 inches long. That puts my weight in the 75-90 percentile, my length in the 90-95 percentile. My head was 48 1/2 cm or about 19 inches around! That puts my head size in the 97th percentile!

Its all those brains inside! lol!

The hazards of sleeping with your toys

Do you know what happens when you fall asleep on top of the toys you were playing with?

This:
Cute huh? If you look real close you can see the imprints of the netting too. Good thing it wasn't permanent.

So I'm really missing my cousins. Its so quiet in our house. There's only mommy and daddy to play with. I wish they were back. I get so excited to go downstairs thinking I'll see them, then its all empty. :(

Here are some of my favorite pictures of them as a little tribute:

I'm gonna go practice letting go of things when I stand up and then falling over now. It's too quiet to nap. :(

Hangin' with my cousins

So I've been having a ball just hanging out with my cousins this week. Not much interesting really going on, other then the storm that started this afternoon, we're just having fun. Here are some pictures of me with them over Xmas break.

In order is Peyton & I, Carolynn & I, Jimmy & I, Pam & I, and the last one is Chad and I, he is Peyton's boyfriend, but mommy thought I looked really cute in that outfit (one of my gifts) so we threw it in too.

Well, that's all for now I guess. I'm gonna go play my baby video games on V-Smile now. Bye!

It was great. The best part was the wrapping paper...it was YUMMY!
We also brought my 3 oldest cousins home with us for a week. That was a fun 5 hour drive with everything in the car. We were squished! Well, I wasn't, everyone else was though. :)

Then we celebrated New Years. That was so awesome too. We banged pots and pans and screamed outside at Midnight. I totally dig that holiday.

I had a nice vacation. There's no more room for me in my bed now with all my toys though. I'll update with more pics again later. It's taking forever to organize everything and get everything uploaded and copied and burned. I think we took too many pictures and videos. I'm gonna go play with all my cool new stuff now though. Bye!

Oh yeah....and the day before yesterday I cut my first top tooth! It's on the left side. Now I can really start chewing the yummier foods!
